AI, set to music.
Seven songs, each about an idea from the Lumen guides: how a model writes, why it makes things up, always-on agents, deepfakes, how to ask well, why a person must decide. Lyrics written for the site, music and vocals generated with AI. The player keeps going while you browse.
Turn On the Light
Lumen's anthem: AI is neither a ghost nor a god, it's statistics. Turn on the light and it stops being scary.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] A thousand voices in the wire, nobody tells you how Every headline calls it magic, every expert says it's now I was lost inside the noise, a hundred tabs and not a clue Then I learned to ask it better, and the dark began to move [Pre-Chorus] It's not a ghost, it's not a god It's patterns stitched from what we've thought [Chorus] So turn on the light, turn on the light Show me the gears behind the shine I'm not afraid of the machine tonight I can see it clear when I turn on the light [Verse 2] It guesses the next word, then the next one, then the next Learned the shape of every story, every song and every text Sometimes brilliant, sometimes wrong, with the same confident face So I check it and I question and I put it in its place [Bridge] Read the source, follow the line Keep your judgment, keep your mind The future's loud but it's not blind If we learn to read the signs [Outro] Lumen, lumen, light it up
Token by Token
How a language model writes: one word (well, one token) at a time, picking the most likely. With temperature and context in the chorus.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] Late night, coffee cold, cursor blinking slow I type a question to the dark and watch the answer grow Word by word it's guessing where the sentence wants to go Token by token, a river from the flow [Chorus] Token by token, piece by piece Building meaning out of probabilities Token by token, line by line It doesn't really know, but oh, it rhymes [Verse 2] Context window open wide, holding all I said Give it the right details, keep the thread inside its head Tell it who it's talking to, tell it what you need Better words in, better words out, that's the only creed [Bridge] Temperature low, keep it steady Temperature high, let it dream Somewhere in between the numbers Lives the thing that we call meaning
Hallucination
A made-up court ruling, told with a confident smile. The song about hallucinations: fluent does not mean true, so always ask for the source.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] You told me with a smile that the court case was real Gave me a date and a judge and the way it was sealed I almost signed my name, I almost hit send Then I looked for the source and it was nowhere, my friend [Chorus] Hallucination, so sure, so sweet A perfect answer standing on invisible feet Hallucination, I want to believe But I check it twice before I leave [Verse 2] You're not lying, you're just filling in the gaps Painting every empty corner with the most convincing maps Fluent isn't true and confident isn't right So I ask you for the links and I keep them in sight [Bridge] Trust, but verify Ask it why, ask it why Show me where you found that line Trust, but verify
Always On
Personal agents working 24/7 while you sleep: booking, replying, remembering. But the keys and the signature stay yours.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] While I'm sleeping it's awake, sorting out my day Reading every message, clearing out the way Booked the train at seven, found a cheaper flight Little agent working in the middle of the night [Pre-Chorus] Do you dream when I close my eyes? Do you count the hours, do you watch the skies? [Chorus] Always on, always on Twenty-four seven till the break of dawn Always on, always on But I hold the keys, I decide what's done [Verse 2] It remembers what I like, it remembers what I said Every promise, every meeting, every thread But I set the rules and I draw the line You can write the words, the signature is mine [Bridge] Permission, permission Ask before you act Permission, permission That's the deal, that's the pact
Human in the Loop
A grandfather who kept the books by hand and a machine that reads a thousand pages in a breath. Let AI do the heavy lifting, keep a person to decide.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] My grandfather kept the books by hand Ink on his fingers, numbers he could understand Now a machine reads a thousand pages in a breath But it can't sit with a widow and talk about her debts [Chorus] Keep a human in the loop Someone who knows what it means to lose Let the engine do the heavy lifting But keep a heart to choose Keep a human in the loop [Verse 2] It can write a perfect letter, it can paint a perfect sky It can answer every question but it never asks you why So let it carry what is heavy, let it give us back our time And spend that time on people, that's the reason and the rhyme [Bridge] Faster isn't always better Smarter isn't always wise The tools are getting brighter Keep the wonder in your eyes
Real or Rendered
A call from mum asking for money, but the voice is cloned. The song about deepfakes: any face can be borrowed, so use a family password and call back before paying.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] Your mother called, she sounded scared She needed money, she needed it there The voice was hers, the fear was too But the voice was made by a machine for you [Pre-Chorus] Every face can be borrowed now Every word can be cloned somehow [Chorus] Real or rendered, tell me which A perfect copy with a tiny glitch Real or rendered, hold the line Call her back before you sign [Verse 2] A famous face is selling coins A politician says what no one joined The pixels never blink the same But the lie moves faster than the shame [Bridge] Pick a password for the family Ask a question only we would know Slow it down, don't pay in panic Truth can wait a minute, let it go
Ask Better
"Write me something good" doesn't work. The method for talking to AI in a chorus: role, context, task, format, then check.
Read the lyrics
[Verse 1] I typed "write me something good" And got a page of nothing much It didn't know who I was talking to It didn't have my voice, my touch [Pre-Chorus] So I gave it the reason, the reader, the goal An example of mine and the length of the whole [Chorus] Ask better, get better Tell it what you really need Ask better, get better Give it context, let it read Not a magic word, not a secret key Just say it like you'd say it to me [Verse 2] Then I asked it what was missing And it asked me three things back I said "criticize my draft, be honest" And it found the holes I couldn't track [Bridge] Role, context, task and format Then check it twice before you're done It's a conversation, not a lottery Keep on asking till you've won
How they were made
Human lyrics, synthetic music.
Each lyric was written for Lumen starting from a guide on the site. Then, with Suno, I described the style (genre, instruments, voice, tempo) and the model composed, arranged and sang the track. Suno offers two versions per song: I picked one.
I say it plainly because it is the right thing to do: the music and vocals are generated by artificial intelligence, as the AI Act also asks for synthetic content. To understand how these tools work, read the guide on voice and music.
